Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS: On January 16, 2024, SDCMS’ Nominating Committee will convene to recommend a proposed slate of SDCMS Board of Directors candidates for 2024–2025. The slate can be viewed HERE.

Pending final approval of the proposed slate by the SDCMS Board of Directors on January 23, 2024, SDCMS bylaws allow for nomination by petition. If the requisite number of signatures is received, the petitioner will be placed on the ballot. For details on the number of signatures required, email Paul Hegyi at Hegyi@SDCMS.org. Nomination petitions may be mailed to SDCMS (Attn: Paul Hegyi), 8690 Aero Drive, Suite 115–220, San Diego, CA 92123.

If the petitioner would like their candidacy statement published in San Diego Physician magazine, it must be received by February 16, 2024; otherwise, completed petitions must be received at SDCMS no later than April 1, 2024. The physician candidate must have been a member of SDCMS for at least two years on the date of assumption of duties: June 2024. PARTICIPATE IN THE FIRST ANNUAL AI HEALTHCARE CONFERENCE ON APRIL 26TH
 
San Diego County Medical Society is co–sponsoring the First Annual AI Healthcare Conference from 8:30am to 3:30pm on Friday, April 26th in Rancho Cucamonga at The Atrium at IEHP at 10801 Sixth Street. This conference is described as an experiential deep dive into the latest technological transformation for physicians, healthcare executives, innovators and health plans.

Spend an extraordinary day learning about and playing with the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. These are the innovations that are rapidly transforming today’s healthcare delivery system and changing the face of medical practices and care delivery nationwide.

BLACK IN MEDICINEMIXER ON JANUARY 23RD AT UCSD
 
UC San Diego School of Medicine and UC San Diego Career Center are hosting a ‘Black in Medicine’ Mixer on Tuesday, January 23rd, from 5:00–7:00pm in the Horizon Room located inside the Career Services Center. This event is for students, med students, and professionals who identify as Black or African American. The purpose is to help underserved students learn more about medicine and help them to network.
